Marshall County man facing child porn charges

BENTON, Ky. (KBSI) – A Marshall County man faces charges after officers found child pornography, according Kentucky State Police.

Monte L. Beasley, 58, faces charges of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and tampering with physical evidence.

Late on November 23, officers with U.S. Forestry Service located various images of suspected child pornography near the eastern shore of Land Between the Lakes (LBL).

Kentucky State Police were notified and responded to the scene. After several hours or searching, multiple images of child pornography, electronic devices, and other items were found.

An investigation by Kentucky State Police detectives led to a home in Benton, Ky. On November 23, detectives found and interviewed Beasley.

During their investigation, detectives learned that the Mayfield Police Department was investigating a similar incident in which images of child pornography were located in an abandoned home earlier in the week. Detectives determined that those images were found in a home which had been damaged in the December tornado which had previously been occupied by Monte Beasley, according to KSP.

Investigators with the Mayfield Police Department and Kentucky State Police continue to investigate. Future charges against Beasley are expected.

Monte Beasley was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
