Mayfield police arrest man with 5 active arrest warrants

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – Mayfield police officers arrested a man with five active arrest warrants.

David Anthony Burton, 30, was arrested on Nov. 10.

He was found in an apartment in possession of suspected illegal substances, according to the Mayfield Police Department.

An investigation was conducted that led to the discovery of more illegal substances and items that indicated sales of the illegal substances.

Approximately 2.6 ounces of methamphetamine was found along with 1.03 ounces of marijuana.

Officers also found a set of digital scales, U.S. currency and two glass pipes commonly used for smoking illegal substances.

Burton was charged with the five arrest warrants and trafficking in controlled substances (meth) greater than 2 oz., trafficking in marijuana less than 8 oz. 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to notify DOT of address change.
