McCracken County sheriff’s deputies warn of phone scam
MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – An old scam is re-emerging.
Here is how it works…Someone pretending to be from the sheriff’s office asks for money.
They take your money after lying to you about a warrant out for your arrest or an overdue court bill.
The audio from call was recorded as saying, “”I’m sergeant Johnson with McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. When you get this message, you can give me a call back on my direct line. “
If you call back the person asks for money.
McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies say if you receive a phone call like this call your local law enforcement.
