Men of Courage initiative aims to combat gender-based violence in Southeast Missouri

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A group of local men are joining forces to combat gender-based violence through the Men of Courage initiative, a two-day event on April 8-9, 2025.
The initiative features spoken word artist and advocate Obbie West and aims to engage high school students, SEMO athletes, and Greek Life students in conversations about respect, consent, and leadership.
A Men of Courage Breakfast on April 9 will bring men together to listen, learn, and commit to being part of the solution. The event is supported by Safe House of Southeast Missouri, the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence, and Southeast Missouri Suicide Prevention.
