Middle school classmates come together to celebrate ‘Kindness Day’
UNION CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – The students at Union City Middle School are spreading kindness in a whole new way.
Cristina Kings’ Tornado RISE middle school class recently celebrated “Kindness Day” by making cards and writing positive words of encouragement.
They distributed them to their peers and staff members at USMC.
Each RISE student was given a card with candy attached to “sprinkle kindness” to other students. Students were encouraged to participate and step outside their usual friend circle and find someone new to give their “kindness” card to.
Additionally, to celebrate Kindness Day Allison Kails’ 8th grade English Language Arts class and the students from the Tornado RISE class came together to write and illustrate a bilingual children’s book to promote kindness.
“Kindness is free, and it’s easy to give away,” King said. “It’s our goal to promote kindness to the entire school.”
