Missouri Department of Conservation offers free June programs in Cape Girardeau
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri Department of Conservation’s Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center is offering free programs in June.
The center will host a virtual program, Mushrooms: Foraging for Summer Chanterelles, on June 4, to introduce participants to identifying and harvesting chanterelle mushrooms.
An in-person archery program, Archery for Everyone, will be held on June 7, allowing participants to test their skills and learn proper technique from conservation staff.
A virtual program, Paddle Sports: Planning the Perfect Float Trip, is scheduled for June 11, to provide guidance on planning and preparing for float trips on Missouri’s streams.
The center will also host Family Fishing: Nature Center at Night: Family Fishing on June 13, offering families an opportunity to fish together without requiring a permit or equipment.
Teens can participate in Conservation Teens: Nature & Namaste, an outdoor yoga program, on June 14.
Additionally, the center will offer Paddle Sports: Borrow a Boat on Perry County Lake, allowing participants to borrow canoes and explore the lake on June 14.
A Nature Rx: Yoga at the Nature Center program will be held on June 25, providing an opportunity for participants to practice yoga in a natural setting.
Advance registration is required for most programs.
The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center is located at 2289 County Park Dr. and is open Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
