Missouri State Highway Patrol, SEMO to announce new crime lab site in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Southeast Missouri State University will announce the location and build site of a new crime laboratory in southeast Missouri during a joint press conference Friday.
Col. Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, will host the event alongside Brad Hodson, president of Southeast Missouri State University.
The press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, in the parking lot at 1221 Broadway St. in Cape Girardeau. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to the Wehking Alumni Center at 926 Broadway St.
Jamie Burger and John Voss are also expected to speak.
Officials will discuss the planned facility and how it is expected to enhance forensic science capabilities and support criminal investigations across Missouri.
