Motorcycle driver killed in crash in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash Tuesday morning in McCracken County.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1800 block of Krebs Station Road at 8:06 a.m. on July 18.
A 2008 Honda motorcycle driven by Todd Ligon, 32, of Paducah was traveling eastbound on Krebs Station Road. A 2022 Ram 5500 truck driven by Bobby Ives, 59, of Benton, Ky. was traveling westbound on Krebs Station Road when it encountered a stopped trash collection truck. The truck entered the eastbound lane of travel to pass the stopped trash collection truck.
The motorcycle and truck collided head on in the eastbound lane of travel, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. Ligon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Mercy Regional Ambulance, Hendron Fire Department, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, McCracken County DES and McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.
Harper’s Towing & Stinnett’s Towing assisted with the removal of the vehicles.
Krebs Station Road was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
