Motorcyclist killed in Cape Girardeau police chase

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — On March 13, a 38-year-old Jackson, Missouri, man was killed in a motorcycle crash during a police pursuit Thursday night.

The chase began around 11:58 p.m. when the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office initiated a pursuit within the city limits.

Cape Girardeau police joined the pursuit, which ended in a collision between the motorcycle and a semi-truck on Southern Expressway.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has taken over the crash investigation, and the Cape Girardeau Police Department is conducting an internal investigation.
