Murray man facing drug charges after traffic stop

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray man faces drug charges after a traffic stop on Sunday.
Van Lawson, 34, of Murray faces charges of possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense-methamphetamine (Class D felony), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Calloway County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Sunday, January 7 around 2 p.m. on S. 4th Street in Murray.
Lawson was arrested on a warrant.
It is believed that illicit drugs that were found in an investigation that took place the day before belonged to him, according to Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies.
He was taken to the Calloway County Detention Facility.
