Murray Police Department warns against scam caller

MURRAY, Mo. (KBSI)- The Murray Police Department says they have received calls stating that an individual has called them pretending to be with the Murray Police Department.
They say the individual told callers that there was a warrant for their arrest or a criminal summons, but they could resolve the matter by making payment over the phone.
The individual made it appear as though he/she was calling from the Murray Police Department’s phone number.
As a reminder, law enforcement will not call to resolve any warrants or summonses by making payment over the phone.
If you receive a call like this hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency.
