Natural gas outage forces some Jackson restaurants to close

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — Jackson Fire Rescue is asking residents to help identify restaurants that remain open during the ongoing natural gas outage affecting the city.

Officials said the outage has placed a strain on many local restaurants and businesses, with some locations temporarily closing or operating with limited service.

To help residents stay informed, the department is encouraging community members to share information about restaurants that are still able to serve hot meals.

Officials asked residents to include the restaurant’s name, hours of operation if known, and whether the business is offering dine-in, carryout or drive-thru service.

Fire officials said the effort is intended to help residents, workers and families find available meal options while also supporting local businesses during the outage.
