Nortian Foodtech to invest $22.2M in St. Joseph, create 138 jobs

ST. JOSEPH, Mo., (KBSI) — Nortian Foodtech, a food manufacturer, announced plans Wednesday to establish a facility in St. Joseph, investing $22.2 million and creating 138 jobs.
The company will construct a 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to produce high-quality protein from meat byproducts.
“We’re proud Nortian Foodtech chose Missouri and St. Joseph for its first U.S. location,” said Gov. Mike Kehoe. “This investment is a testament to our strong manufacturing industry and skilled workforce.”
Nortian Foodtech transforms meat byproducts into high-value, food-grade ingredients.
The company’s decision to open its first U.S. location in St. Joseph will provide opportunities to partner with other food manufacturers in the area.
The company will benefit from the Missouri Works program, which provides access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.
Local officials welcomed the announcement, citing the creation of new jobs and the growth of the industrial base in Buchanan County.
