Officer-involved shooting in Doniphan under investigation

RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) – On April 6, at approximately 2:13 p.m., officers from the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a residence on Ripley 160W-7 in Doniphan.

The call reported an armed subject barricaded in a room, allegedly armed with a knife, threatening to harm family members and deputies.

The subject refused to comply with officer commands to drop the knife.

A taser was deployed but had no effect.

The subject then charged the officers, stabbing one of them multiple times in their ballistic vest.

Two officers fired their weapons, subduing the subject. Despite medical aid, the subject succumbed to injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol DDCC is investigating the incident.
