Old Town Cape honors outstanding contributors at annual dinner

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Old Town Cape, Inc. recognized outstanding volunteers, businesses and individuals who have made significant contributions to the downtown Cape Girardeau area at its annual dinner, “Reflections of Success.”

Nine awards were presented, including Volunteer of the Year, Business Excellence, Resiliency, Excellence in Revitalization through Placemaking, and the Charles L. Hutson Visionary Award.

Award recipients included Barb and Jim Morgan, Pagliai’s Pizza & Pasta, Gabriele Ruggieri, Craig Thomas, Scott Rhodes and Jeff Maurer, Shannon Duggan, Matt Carnaghi, Andi Evans, and Teresa Maurer.

The event also highlighted Old Town Cape’s accomplishments in 2024, including 21 new businesses, 112 new jobs, and over $8.1 million invested in downtown Cape.
