CARBONDAL, Il., (KBSI) — CN Rail will replace the railroad crossing at North Illinois Avenue and Dillinger Road, closing Dillinger Road from July 13 through July 17.

Signage will be on display this week to notify drivers of the upcoming closure.

Alternate routes:

For drivers on Illinois 51 wanting to travel east on Dillinger Road:

Travel south to Oak Street.
Continue east to Marion Street.
Head north on Marion Street to return to Dillinger Road.

For drivers traveling west on Dillinger Road:

Travel south on Marion Street.
Continue west on Oak Street to return to Illinois 51.

Eggners Ferry Bridge

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is planning lane restrictions on the U.S. 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake at Aurora beginning at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, for a scheduled inspection.

Lane restrictions will be in place through July 17. Crews will use an under-bridge inspection vehicle and climbers to perform a thorough, hands-on inspection.

Motorists should be alert for signage and trucks with arrow boards guiding traffic to shift into the open lane.

Lane restrictions are expected to be lifted by about 3 p.m. Friday, July 17, weather permitting.

Drivers should use caution where workers and equipment are along the roadway near traffic.

The bridge serves as the western entrance to the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

Interstate 57

Northbound Interstate 57 in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

The work zone is located between mile markers 8.4 and 9.6 near Charleston.

Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 15, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
