FOX23 News at 9 p.m
GRAVES COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will implement an overnight lane restriction on Interstate 69 northbound between mile markers 33 and 35 on Wednesday as part of ongoing bridge inspections.
Inspections are underway on three I-69 bridges between Exit 27 (KY 131) and the Graves-Marshall County line. Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with Friday designated as a backup date.
Crews will work on one bridge at a time but may move between locations throughout the day.
Inspection sites include:
- I-69 northbound at mile marker 31.4 over Panther Creek
- I-69 northbound at mile marker 33.7 over the West Fork Clarks River
- I-69 northbound at mile marker 34.01 over the West Fork Clarks River overflow
At each location, traffic will be reduced to one lane. Motorists should also expect temporary roadblocks lasting up to five minutes in both lanes to allow crews to reposition equipment. Kentucky State Police will assist with traffic control during these brief closures.
Drivers are urged to watch for signs, workers and equipment and to be prepared for minor delays.
