Paducah man accused of shooting at brother

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces charges accused of shooting a shotgun at his younger brother.

Andrew N. Moreland, 18, of Paducah faces one count of wanton endangerment 1st degree.

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 4600 block of Mayfield-Metropolis Road on March 17 about 10:30 a.m. in regards to an unknown type of disturbance.

It was reported that gunshots were heard in the area and individuals were screaming and fleeing in a vehicle.

Moreland was in a verbal argument with his younger brother at their home when he retrieved a 12 gauge shotgun from his vehicle and fired it into the air and in the general direction of his brother, according to the McCracken county Sheriff’s Office.

His brother was not injured.

Moreland left the home, but returned while deputies were still on the scene.

Deputies arrested him and seized the shotgun.

Moreland was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
