Paducah man arrested after sheriff’s deputies say he hit somone with hammer

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah man faces charges after sheriff’s deputies say he hit a person with a hammer.

Lynn Day, 43, of Paducah faces charges of assault 2nd degree and possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine).

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Mercy Health Lourdes on May 12 for a report of a male who sustained non-incapacitating injuries by a male armed with a hammer.

Deputies determined that Roger Gibson, 61, of Paducah was struck with a hammer twice by Day following an argument that turned violent.

Gibson arrived at the hospital via personal vehicle for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries before he was released.

Deputies responded to the scene of the assault at 150 Butler Lane.

They found and interviewed Day.

Deputies say he was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine when he was arrested.

Day was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
