Paducah man arrested on multiple charges after traffic stop

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A traffic stop early Monday morning led to the arrest of a driver on multiple charges, including driving under the influence and possession of methamphetamine.

Oscar Mercado was arrested after an off-duty Paducah police officer reported a traffic violation near the 8100 block of Old Mayfield Road around 4:15 a.m.

Deputies responded and conducted an investigation, determining Mercado was under the influence. Methamphetamine was found on his person.

Mercado was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, operating under the influence, and other offenses.
