Paducah men arrested on drug, gun charges after apartment search

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Two Paducah men were arrested Tuesday afternoon on drug and gun charges after a search warrant was executed at their apartment.
Bobby S. Staples III, 29, and Michael R. Lightfoot, 29, both of Parkside Drive, were taken into custody by McCracken County Sheriff’s Office detectives.
The search warrant, part of a drug investigation, was executed at 5225 Parkside Drive just after 2 p.m. on April 1, 2025. Detectives found multiple pounds of marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia, three handguns — one reported stolen in Paducah in August 2023 — and approximately $76,723 in cash believed to be proceeds from illicit drug sales.
Staples faces charges including firearm-enhanced trafficking in marijuana, receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to notify address change to the Department of Transportation.
Lightfoot is charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to notify address change to the Department of Transportation.
Both men were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
