Paducah reminds property owners of right-of-way maintenance responsibilities

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Paducah officials are reminding property owners that they are responsible for maintaining certain public rights-of-way next to their properties, including undeveloped alleys.
Under the Paducah Code of Ordinances, property owners must keep adjacent sidewalks, ditches, curbs, gutters, drainage pipes and unpaved portions of rights-of-way clean and in good repair.
The city is asking residents to keep leaves, trash and other debris out of curbs, gutters and drainage areas. Property owners should also remove weeds and vegetation growing along roadways and keep drainage areas clear so water can flow properly.
Officials said residents’ cooperation allows city crews to focus on maintaining Paducah’s roadways.
