Paducah riverfront construction zone to expand starting March 10

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The Riverfront Infrastructure Improvement Project construction area will expand starting March 10 to include the area behind the Holiday Inn Paducah Riverfront hotel.

Crews will install storm sewer pipe in the expanded closure area, adjacent to the current work zone between the floodwall openings on North 2nd Street and Executive Boulevard.

The closure will continue through the fall. Hotel and Convention Center parking areas will not be affected, and the Greenway Trail will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists.

Vehicular traffic is restricted in the area, with floodwall openings at Executive Boulevard and North 2nd and Madison streets open to the public.

The $20.4 million project, expected to take 18-24 months, includes a riverboat excursion pier, transportation enhancements and floodwall improvements.
