Retired schoolteacher opens her door to a surprise after being nominated for Covering the Community Program

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – One local woman got a special surprise today after she opened her door to find she’d won a new roof!

Brenda Campbell was nominated by her niece Morgan Cambell through the Covering the Community Program.

Through this program Fortify Building Solutions donates the supplies and Daniel’s Roofing donates the labor to give someone in need of a new roof completely free.

Brenda was surprised when she opened her door today to find out she had won as she didn’t even know she was entered!

Nick Reynolds is the branch manager for Fortify Building Solutions of Scott City.

“Well, hi Brenda , I’m Nick Reynold’s with fortify building solutions in Scott City and this is Daniel’s Roofing, their crews here too and we just want to say you won the free roof this year” says Reynolds.

Brenda Campbells a retired teacher and says she had no idea her niece Morgan had nominated her to get the roof.  

“Well good she has to take care of me one day. I’ll just throw her in there. Well, that’s just great! I’ve never won anything that great before!” says Campbell.

Campbell says she elected her aunt for the roof giveaway because her Aunt Brenda lives alone and is financially unable to purchase a new one but is deserving and takes care of everyone she meets and overall, a great person who gives everything to anyone she can.

Now Brenda will have one less worry with a brand-new roof over her head.

The Covering the Community Program gives back to those in the community who need a helping hand.

Through a nomination process Fortify Building Solutions and Daniels Roofing work together in partnership to give back to those that need it the most.
