Ripley County Fire Department responds to 267 calls in first year

RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — The Ripley County Fire Department responded to 267 calls during its first year of operation, averaging about five calls per week.

The department thanked its volunteer firefighters for contributing their time and personal resources to provide emergency services throughout the county. It also thanked residents who paid fire dues, which help fund the department’s operations.

According to the department, about 25% of the community supported it through fire dues during the past year.

The department encouraged residents to vote Aug. 4, saying additional community support could help it expand services and improve local home insurance ratings.
