S.N.A.P host 3rd annual kickoff to summer

Summer Kick Off

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo (KBSI) – Stop Needless Acts of Violence Please, also known as S.N.A.P, held its 3rd annual kickoff to summer, an event to set a positive mood for summer.

Ramona Bailey, a volunteer with S.N.A.P, says that they hosted a kickball game for children and whoever wanted to play.

S.N.A.P was at Ranney Park, with food, and games it’s part of the plan that S.N.A.P Founder Felice Patton says is to spread peace.

“We are coming to advocate for love and not hate and we want the kids to know that we’re here for them because they’re our future,” said Patton.

Patton founded the organization after her son that was killed.

The goal of S.N.A.P is to encourage others in the community not to be afraid to speak up against the violence and crimes across Cape Girardeau.

As S.N.A.P continues to raise awareness

Bailey says it starts with reminding the kids to get out and safely play

“We definitely want [the children] to stay healthy, stay energized and remind the kids out of school is out you know still get outside and exercise and play,” said Bailey.
