Saint Francis Healthcare System releases 2025 community health needs assessment report

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Saint Francis Healthcare System has released the results of its 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), a report required every three years for not-for-profit hospitals.

The assessment, which included primary and secondary research, identified the top four health needs in Cape Girardeau, Scott, and Stoddard counties as:

Chronic disease
Affordable medications
Healthy food access
Healthcare capacity

The report includes an executive summary and implementation plan for addressing these priority needs.

The assessment was based on data collected from four focus groups, a consumer survey with over 500 responses, and published data from federal, state, and local sources.

Saint Francis Healthcare System has served Southeast Missouri for 150 years and is anchored by Saint Francis Medical Center, a 306-bed tertiary hospital.
