Scott City woman faces child endangerment charges

SCOTT CITY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Scott City woman faces charges after police say she left her children unattended and had methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her home.

Cheyanne Dee Grillo, 27, is charged with four counts of first-degree child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Scott City Police Department received a complaint on Sept. 5 around 6 a.m. of children having been left unattended by their mother.

Three minor children had been left alone for several hours in the care of a neighbor which is also a minor child, according to the Scott City Police Department. The children were removed from the home.

Grillo, the children’s mother, was located at a home across town and arrested.

During the investigation, there was evidence that Grillo had stored a controlled substance at her home, according to police.

Scott City Police Department executed a search warrant at Grillo’s home and found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Grillo’s bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.
