Southern Illinois organizations launch resource platform

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS(KBSI) – Southern Illinois organizations have been working together on a project, and they say the goal of the project was simple-make it easier for people to get the help they need when they need it the most.
The SIH, in partnership with, healthy Southern Illinois delta network and Southern Illinois Coalition for Children and Families and many other organizations have launched an online, live platform called FindHelp Southern Illinois.
Angie Bailey is the Southern Illinois Healthcare, Community Health System Director. She shares that SIH conducted an area survey and the survey found that many people were unaware of resources in the area or were unaware how to locate the resources. So, the find help project began. An online tool, that connects those living in Southern Illinois to vital resources after just simply entering in their zip code.
“Some examples of things you would find in findhelp are transportation, food pantries” says Bailey. “We’ve also added, things like daycare, pre-k, nursing homes, home health, lots of different resources and over ten, what we call domains.”
Bailey says the project took years to build and she encourages organizations to go to the website and add their information for more community connections.
