Stars and Stripes Museum to host Vietnam War living history event

BLOOMFIELD, Mo., (KBSI) — The Stars and Stripes Museum and Library will host a free Vietnam War living history event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.
The event will examine the war through two defining years, 1961 and 1971. Historical reenactors will display authentic uniforms, equipment and artifacts representing both periods.
Visitors will be able to compare changes in military technology and service members’ gear while learning about daily life during the war.
The event will also include a museum scavenger hunt using Stars and Stripes newspaper articles, historical videos and exhibits. Participants will search for clues demonstrating how the war changed over the course of a decade.
The program is open to all ages, and admission is free.
