Superman Celebration kicks off in Metropolis
METROPOLIS, Ill. (KBSI) – The 2023 Metropolis Superman Celebration got underway on Friday in Metropolis, Ill.
Special guests include Tyler Hoechlin, Nocole Maines and Jesse Rath.
The iconic fifteen-foot statue of Superman was unveiled in 1993, leaving a legacy for the town of Metropolis.
Fridday the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce held a re-dedication ceremony on the town square.
The Superman celebration is a huge source revenue for the town of Metropolis, bringing in vendors and attracting lots of visitors from across the country.
Several cosplayers and special guests will be at the event from Friday to Sunday June 11th, to help celebrate Superman’s hometown.
The city of Metropolis, located in m=Massac County on the banks of the Ohio river, has played key roles in America’s history, serving as a military and trading outpost.
“We’re just enjoying the sights and sounds of the Superman Festival,” said Tyler Leeds from Metropolis, Ill.
With all the years to come, it’s a positive that superman is here to stay in Metropolis.
