JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — An 18-year-old Pevely man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that occurred last month in Hillsboro, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Dave Marshak said Jacob M. Aubuchon was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action stemming from an incident Dec. 20, 2025.
Investigators said the victim was attending a house party at a residence in the 7200 block of Linda Lane when Aubuchon arrived. A short time later, authorities believe a fight broke out between the two, during which Aubuchon allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times.
The victim was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Authorities said Aubuchon’s identity and whereabouts were not immediately known following the stabbing. Investigators later used multiple digital search warrants to identify the suspect and place him at the scene at the time of the incident.
Aubuchon was taken into custody Jan. 16 and is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
The sheriff’s office credited investigators for dedicating weeks to the case and utilizing advanced technology as part of the investigation. Officials also thanked the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, led by Trisha Stefanski, for obtaining in-custody warrants.
Authorities noted that charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
