Tennessee man killed in crash on Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County

PEMISCOT COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A Tennessee man was killed Sunday night in a crash on Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 9:50 p.m. on southbound I-55 near the 19-mile marker.
Troopers said a 2020 Ram 1500 driven by a 47-year-old man from Dyersburg, Tennessee, ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a bridge pillar and overturned. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:10 p.m. by Pemiscot County Coroner Brian Irons. Authorities said the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Ace Wrecker.
The crash was investigated by Trooper N.S. Smith, assisted by Sgt. D.L. DeJournett and Cpl. J.P. Lewis.
The crash marks Troop E’s ninth fatality of 2026, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
