POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Three Rivers College will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony next week for a new greenhouse on its Poplar Bluff campus.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21.

College officials said the greenhouse was funded through an enhancement grant and will support hands-on learning for students in agriculture programs.

The facility, located near the Crisp Technology Center, will allow students to conduct experiments with soil, growing systems and plant development. Some plants grown in the greenhouse will be used to enhance landscaping across campus with native Missouri species.

Instructor Kathryn Clark said the greenhouse will help connect classroom instruction with real-world application.

Three Rivers officials also said future partnerships with local organizations, including Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation, could expand the project’s impact in the community.

The public is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
