Tornado survivor praises Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Lana Feldmeier credits the staff at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with saving her life after a tornado severely injured her on March 14.
Feldmeier, who suffered a severed ear, broken ribs, a fractured collarbone and nerve damage, praised the hospital’s emergency room staff, surgeons and nurses for their exceptional care.
Richard Wirz, DO, performed the surgery to reconstruct Feldmeier’s ear, earning praise from Feldmeier as a “miracle worker.”
Feldmeier, a retired registered nurse, said the care she received at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center was comparable to, if not better than, care she received at hospitals in St. Louis and Memphis.
The hospital’s occupational and physical therapy teams also drew praise from Feldmeier, who is continuing her recovery with her husband by her side.
Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center has been serving Southeast Missouri for 100 years, offering a range of services, including cardiology, oncology and robotic surgery.
