Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Benton, KY

BENTON, Ky. (KBSI) – A traffic stop led to a drug arrest Saturday in Benton, Ky.

An officer stopped a blue pickup truck that had one working brake light on May 7. K9 Conner and handler. Dep Johnson were called to the scene where an open air sniff was conducted.

K9 Conner alerted. Officers located approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine from Michelle Owens who was placed under arrest, according to the Benton Police Department.

Benton police officers obtained a search warrant for 805 Poplar St where 97.6 grams (3.4oz) of cocaine, 1 gram of meth, as well as an assortment of pills and paraphernalia were located, according to the Benton Police Department.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and KY Conner assisted in the investigation.
