Two injured in crash on Highway 286 in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening on Highway 286 near Ashley Drive, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 5:34 p.m. March 13 to the crash involving a 2017 Toyota Highlander and a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.
Investigators said the Highlander, driven by Dorothy Myers, 85, of Kevil, was traveling east on Highway 286. The Malibu, driven by Mackenzie Blackford, 25, of Kevil, was traveling west.
Authorities said Blackford’s vehicle lost control for unknown reasons and crossed into the eastbound lane, where it was struck by Myers’ vehicle.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals with non-incapacitating injuries for evaluation and treatment. The vehicles were disabled and later removed from the scene.
The sheriff’s office said several agencies assisted with the response, including the West McCracken Fire Department, McCracken County Emergency Management, Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant Fire Department, Concord Fire Department, the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office and Speedy’s Towing, along with several bystanders who stopped to help.
