Two men attempting a burglary get caught by deputies

On January 2 at approximately 4:50 am, Graves County Sheriff’s deputies were told of a possible burglary in progress at a location on Kentucky Hwy 339 West, just west of Intestate 69 near the Wingo community.
Deputies working the midnight shift arrived to find a pickup truck parked at the location in question, at an unoccupied home with outbuildings.
Deputies initially located one man, 37-year-old identified as Andrew F. Dailey in the back yard and detained him.
Dailey told deputies that he was alone and that there was no one with him.
Items had been removed from an outbuilding that was about to be loaded into the pickup truck.
Inside the outbuilding, deputies located another man attempting to hide, that was holding an axe and a flashlight.
After being instructed to drop the axe, this suspect was taken into custody as well. He was identified as being 55-year-old David C. Carter.
The investigation revealed that the two men had driven to this location and had broken into a building by a residence and were in the process of stealing items when they were interrupted and arrested by deputies.
