Two minors taken into custody after shots fired in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Two juveniles were taken into custody after admitting to firing a weapon in the 400-block of S. Spring early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the area around 3:30 a.m. after reports of shots fired. Officers had previously been dispatched to the area multiple times the evening before for similar reports.

During the investigation, officers found spent shell casings and live ammunition. One of the juveniles turned over a firearm, which was later determined to be a stolen gun from the Kansas City area.

The juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. No injuries or property damage were reported.
