Two Paducah men arrested after drug raid on Alabama Street

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — Two Paducah men were arrested Tuesday after McCracken County Sheriff’s detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Alabama Street and discovered a large quantity of illegal drugs, authorities said.

Detectives began investigating after receiving multiple complaints of suspected drug activity at 3235 Alabama St., according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. Based on information gathered, a search warrant was obtained and executed Tuesday afternoon.

During the search, detectives found approximately 81 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, assorted pills, drug paraphernalia, and U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from drug sales. Most of the narcotics were located near a firearm, the sheriff’s office said.

Kevin Garnett, 51, and Demarco Halliburton, 47, both of Paducah, were arrested in connection with the drugs and firearm. Halliburton was found inside the home, while Garnett was detained nearby at a gas station.

Both men are convicted felons with extensive criminal histories, according to investigators.

Garnett was charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in methamphetamine, second-offense trafficking in marijuana, possession of a synthetic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Halliburton was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation is ongoing.
