U.S. 60 reopened after deadly semi crash in Crittenden County, KY

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A man died in a tractor-trailer crash late Wednesday night in Crittenden County.

Shawn G. Colman, 61, of Louisville was driving a 2025 Kenworth tractor-trailer eastbound on US 60 (Sturgis Road) at the east edge of Marion, Ky. when his vehicle left the right should of the road, struck a power pole and overturned, according to Kentucky State Police.

The crash took out a utility pole at the 10.8 mile marker near the Rush Creek Bridge and Adam Street at the Marion city limits, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The KYTC Crittenden County Highway Maintenance Crew maintained traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers until a recovery crew arrived on site.

A wrecker crew worked from off the roadway to do recovery prep work, allowing the roadway to open to 2-way traffic.

A Kentucky Utilities crew completed work to replace the damaged the utility pole while the semi was prepped for removal.

The site is cleared. All lanes are open.
