Veterans Day Ceremony at Capaha Park honors veterans past and present

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – On Saturday morning, dozens gathered at Capaha Park for the annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
The ceremony is a joint effort between many local veterans groups. It featured distinguished speaker Sgt. Bill Adams, a color guard, and honor guard, a wreath of remembrance, and more.
Adams said what Veterans Day means to him comes down to one seven-letter word: ““Freedom. If it were not for the airmen, the Marine Corps, the Army, the Coast Guard, we would not have the freedom. Those are the people who laid in on the line. Those are the ones who stood up and said, ‘Here am I, send me.’”
