Vienna High School hosts drug search

VIENNA, Ill., (KBSI) — The Vienna City Police Department, School Resource Officers and Illinois State Police conducted a drug search at Vienna High School, utilizing three trained drug search dogs.
The search, which included the school building and parking lot, yielded no findings.
Principal John Giffin praised the collaborative effort, saying, “Today’s search reinforces our commitment to a drug-free campus, made possible through teamwork and proactive measures.”
Superintendent Dr. Joshua Stafford emphasized the district’s comprehensive approach to preventing drug use, including evidence-based education programs, restorative policies and random drug testing.
Stafford noted that the drug search dogs used in the operation were trained to detect marijuana, in addition to other substances.
