Woman accused of stealing jeans, assaulting store employee at The Buckle

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A southern Illinois woman is jailed on multiple charges, including second-degree burglary and stealing, after allegedly stealing jeans from The Buckle clothing store.

Jessica Bigham, 36, of McClure, is accused of stealing two pairs of jeans valued at $149.90 from The Buckle in Cape Girardeau on March 22.

According to court documents, Bigham punched a store employee who tried to stop her from leaving.

She then fled in her vehicle, crossing into Illinois, despite an officer’s attempt to pull her over.

Bigham was arrested Tuesday and is being held at the Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

She is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
