Woman allegedly pistol-whipped by Cape Girardeau man, suffers multiple injuries

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — A police investigation led to the arrest of Thomas Bean in connection with an alleged assault.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim reported being assaulted by Bean at a residence in Cape Girardeau on May 31, 2025. The victim alleged that Bean grabbed her by the hair, pulled her to the ground, dragged her and struck her in the head with a pistol multiple times.

The victim sustained injuries, including a laceration on her right knee, a swollen left cheekbone and a hematoma on the left side of her head.

The investigation revealed that Bean was in possession of a handgun earlier in the night during an unrelated vehicle stop.
