Woodland student excels in Poetry Out Loud competition

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Ben Gabriel, a student at Woodland, placed first in the school’s Poetry Out Loud recitation competition and advanced to the district level, held Saturday in Cape Girardeau.

Gabriel, accompanied by speech coach Mrs. Stegeman, recited three poems from the Poetry Out Loud anthology, which he had memorized and interpreted.
