Woodlawn Fire Chief dies after 30 years of service

WOODLAWN, Ill., (KBSI) — Woodlawn Fire Protection District Chief Bill Shega died peacefully at his home on Feb. 12, surrounded by his family.

Shega served the community for 30 years and was a respected member of the department and village board.

The Shega family and the department expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences.

Per Shega’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family requests continued prayers during this difficult time.
