Cape Girardeau man facing burglary, kidnapping charges

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau man faces burglary and kidnapping charges after police responded to a call of a possible burglary in progress on Wednesday.
Rickey Foulks, 25, of Cape Girardeau is charged with Class B felony of burglary in the first degree, Class B felony of kidnapping in the first degree, two felony counts of armed criminal action, Class E felony of unlawful use of a weapon, Class A misdemeanor of assault in the fourth degree, Class B felony of assault in the second degree and Class E Felony of resisting an arrest.
Foulks is being held without bond.
On Wednesday October 4, at about 12:10 p.m. Cape Girardeau police officers responded to the 0-100-block of N. Hanover for a possible burglary in progress.
A neighbor reported seeing a male attempting to gain entrance into a home. Officers found an open door to the home however did not locate anyone inside.
At approximately 12:26 p.m. officers received another call in reference to an attempted abduction where the suspect attempted to force the victim out of their home and into his vehicle at gunpoint in the 500 nlock of N. Fountain.
Officers responded to that location and made contact with the victim. While speaking with the victim, it was determined the 0-100 block of N. Hanover and the 500 block of N. Fountain incidents were related.
Officers saw the suspect vehicle in an alley and tried to make contact with the driver as he left in the vehicle, according to the police.
Police say the suspect struck a Cape Girardeau police marked patrol car with his vehicle trying to disable the officer’s patrol vehicle. After a short vehicle chase, officers got the suspect to stop in the 900 block of Ranney where he was arrested.
