1 man wanted, 1 dead after stabbing in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Police are looking for a man who faces a murder charge after a stabbing in Carbondale.

Terrance D. Ware, 44, of Carbondale faces a first degree murder charge. As of the morning of Thursday, Nov. 2, Ware had not been found.

William M. Pittman, 23 of Carbondale died after he was stabbed on November 1 in Carbondale, according to Carbondale police.

Police were called to the 400 block of East Larch Street on November 1 around 7:03 p.m. regarding a person who was injured during a fight.

Officers found Pittman with stab wounds. He was taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale by the Jackson County Ambulance Service. The victim later died of his injuries at the hospital.

Police say Pittman was stabbed by a man with whom he was acquainted over a personal disagreement.

Ware was not on the scene when police arrived.
