Murray man facing drug charges after investigation into potential drug trafficking ring

MURRAY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Murray man faces several drug charges after an investigation into a potential drug trafficking ring.
Andrew Heckathorn, 31, faces two counts of trafficking controlled substance – 1st deg, 1st offense >2g (meth), one count of trafficking controlled substance – 2nd degree 1st offense (anabolic steroid), one count of manufacturing methamphetamine – 1st offense, two counts of possession of a controlled substance – 1st degree (Fentanyl), one count of possession controlled substance – 2nd degree (drug unspecified), one count of possession of controlled substance – 3rd degree (drug unspecified), one count of receiving stolen property (firearm), one count of controlled substance endangerment to child – 4th degree and one count of buy/possess drug paraphernalia.
In September of 2023, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit began investigating a potential drug trafficking ring in Murray.
Sheriff’s deputies say Heckathorn distributed various illegal drugs.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, DEA, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police caught Heckathorn in the act of distributing methamphetamine, according to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies say Heckathorn was stopped and found with approximately one-half pound of methamphetamine and prescription pills in Murray.
The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office got a search warrant for his home. When they executed the search warrant, deputies found additional methamphetamine, suspected Fentanyl pills, anabolic steroids, additional Schedule II and III drugs, firearms (one of which was stolen), drug trafficking paraphernalia and a clandestine methamphetamine lab which had recently been used, according to the sheriff’s office.
Heckathorn was taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
